Allstate Insurance donates $1,000.00 for traffic safety
February 1, 2001
Allstate Insurance Company has donated $1,000.00 to the Houghton County Sheriff's Office to use for traffic safety. Local representative Tom Borsum of the Douglass Agency is pictured handing the check over to Houghton Co. Sheriff Brian McLean.

Houghton County Sheriff Brian McLean states that the department had applied for the mini-grant to enhance traffic safety not only on the streets, but also snowmobile and ORV trails as well as the inland waterways by purchasing a hand-held radar gun. After review of the proposal, Allstate agreed to fund the project.

"We're delighted to accept this mini-grant to help us enhance our efforts for traffic, trail and water safety", states Sheriff McLean.
